Product Photography in Savannah, Georgia
On a product page, the photograph is the sale. The customer can't hold it, weigh it, or read the label in their hand — they decide from the image, and if the image is soft, badly lit, or inconsistent with the six around it, they leave without ever telling you why. Matte Black Production shoots studio and on-location product work for brands across Savannah and the Georgia Lowcountry, with national accounts handled remotely or on location.
Hero & Campaign
The image at the top of the page has a different job than the fifteen below it. Hero work is built, not documented: surfaces sourced, reflections controlled, props chosen to say something about who the product is for. We shoot these as composites where it makes sense. Separate passes for the product, the highlight, and the background, assembled in post; which is how you get a bottle that looks lit from inside and a label that's still legible. Gear & Equipment
Gear photographed on a white sweep looks like every other thing photographed on a white sweep. For a product built to take abuse, the surface it sits on is half the argument — wet gravel, bleached driftwood, a scratched aluminum deck. We shoot equipment in the conditions it's made for and build the set to match, and we lay out kits so a buyer can count what's in the box without reading a spec sheet. Field days get planned like field days: protecting bodies and glass from water and grit while still working fast enough to catch the light is a different job than a studio call, and we schedule it as one.
Food, Beverage & Spirits
Food has a short window and drinks have a shorter one. Condensation slides, foam collapses, ice goes cloudy, and garnish wilts under a modeling light. We work with stand-ins to set the frame before the real plate or pour ever comes out, so the moment it's in position we're shooting rather than adjusting.
